EIT Raw Materials: 2nd Greek Raw Materials Community Dialogue

The “EIT Raw Materials: 2nd Greek Raw Materials Community Dialogue” took place at the Hilton Hotel, Athens on the 23rd and 24th of October 2017. The event was organized and jointly hosted by the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and the Eastern Co-Location Centre (ECLC) of the EIT Raw Materials (KIC).

EIT RawMaterials along with NTUA in 2016 took the initiative to begin a series of events for the Greek Raw Material Community with great success gathering more than 150 stakeholders in a vivid and open dialogue. The scope of these events is to foster, facilitate and enhance the Greek Raw Materials Community with strategic actions through the support of the EIT Raw Materials (KIC) community and NTUA.

Following the first event in 2016, the “EIT Raw Materials: 2nd Greek Raw Materials Community Dialogue” brought together more than 160 stakeholders from the industry (large and SME), governance (national and regional), academia and research institutes in Greece along with executive European organizations of the Raw Materials sector as members of the EIT Raw Materials (KIC) to discuss over a new supporting tool for the sector and stakeholders, the RIS Hub Greece. The central target of the event was to announce the establishment of the RIS Hub Greece.

The “EIT Raw Materials: 2nd Greek Raw Materials Community Dialogue” included several invited high level speakers from EU and Greece, setting the current state in the Greek and EU raw materials sector, addressing the Knowledge Triangle (academia, research, industry) οn political level, presenting tools and initiatives in EU and Greece that act as facilitators for the sector, examining the innovation needs in Knowledge Triangle and governance, and presenting the background and foreground of RIS Hub Greece. Vivid and fruitful discussions took place between stakeholders, exchanging thoughts, ideas, suggestions, objections and wishes over the RIS Hub Greece establishment.
